About Dr. Lomax

Dr. Jana Lomax is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Colorado. She completed her undergraduate education in Psychology and Spanish at Miami University, Ohio. She went on to complete a Master of Arts (M.A.) and Doctoral (PsyD) degree in Clinical Psychology at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, Chicago.

Since 2004 Dr. Lomax has provided general mental health and specialized health psychology services to individuals, couples, families and community members through her work at the following organizations: Denver Health Medical Center, University of Colorado Hospital, AMC Cancer Research Center, Good Samaritan Medical Center, and Saint Joseph Hospital. Dr. Lomax has held faculty positions at the University of Colorado – Denver and University of Denver. She is actively involved in the training of future Health Psychologists.

Dr. Lomax has specialized training and expertise in helping people adjust to the psychological, physical, spiritual, and social effects of medical conditions in their lives and with their loved ones. Specifically, the majority of her clinical experience has focused in the area of Psychosocial Oncology; or care for people who have been diagnosed with or impacted by cancer at any point in their lives.

As a psychologist, Dr. Lomax practices a solution-focused approach with Cognitive Behavioral and Existential foundations. She enjoys working in partnership with individuals as they face life’s unexpected challenges and crises to support them in finding resiliency, hope, and new strengths.

Kristin Kilbourn, PhD, MPH

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Kristin Kilbourn earned her Master’s Degree in Public Health in Health Promotion from San Diego State University and her Ph.D. in Clinical Health Psychology from the University of Miami. Her training included intensive work with those living with serious illness including cancer, autoimmune disorders and heart disease. Kristin developed a new program in Psychosocial Oncology at the University of Florida and she is currently engaged in teaching, research and clinical activities at the University of Colorado, National Jewish Health and Western Oncology. She is a speaker for Lilly Oncology’s patient-centered communication programs and serves on the Medical Advisory Board for the Scleroderma Foundation, Rocky Mountain Chapter. Her clinical orientation is predominately Cognitive-Behavioral and Existential and she enjoys working with individuals (patients and caregivers/family), couples who are dealing with a medical condition, and leading group interventions. Kristin is particularly interested in the mind-body connection and the impact of stress and adaptive coping on health and wellness.

Erin Baurle, PsyD

Licensed Clinical Health Psychologist

Dr. Erin Baurle is a Licensed Clinical Health Psychologist and President-Elect of the Colorado Psychological Association. She completed her undergraduate education in Psychology and Family Studies at Miami University, Ohio. She then earned her Doctoral (PsyD) degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Health Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Her training and research focused on helping individuals, couples and families impacted by medical illness.

In her career Dr. Baurle has been focused on integrating mental health care into medical settings. She has demonstrated success developing and implementing programs in large healthcare settings. Dr. Baurle’s areas of clinical expertise include: oncology, geriatrics, women’s health, ongoing management of chronic disease, bereavement and caregiver distress. Dr. Baurle is passionate about furthering the field of Health Psychology and has actively trained and supervised future psychologists since 2012.

Dr. Baurle uses a collaborative therapeutic approach grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She enjoys helping individuals, couples and families adjust to significant life changes and improve quality of life.
