Welcome Amanda Fowler, LCSW
We are delighted to introduce Amanda Fowler, MSW, LCSW, the newest therapist to join our team—and a truly magnificent addition to our community of healers.
Amanda brings with her a deep well of experience, compassion, and steady presence cultivated across more than a decade of working with individuals and families navigating some of life’s most challenging moments. Her background reflects not only clinical strength, but profound dedication to advocacy, education, and whole-person care.
A Career Rooted in Oncology, Rare Disease, and Human Resilience
Amanda’s professional journey has touched nearly every corner of the cancer care landscape. She has served as an Oncology Social Worker at the University of Colorado Cancer Center, where she provided individual counseling, facilitated support groups, and conducted CAR-T and transplant assessments within multidisciplinary teams.
Her experience extends nationally as an Information Specialist with the Blood Cancer United (formerly Leukemia & Lymphoma Society), where she offered up-to-date disease education, emotional and practical support, and advocacy engagement to patients and families navigating blood cancers.
Before that, she supported clients across all oncology diagnoses as a Patient Navigator with the American Cancer Society, guiding individuals through resources, care systems, and emotional challenges during treatment and survivorship.
Amanda’s work has consistently centered on people facing serious illness, uncertainty, identity transitions, and profound emotional demands—and she brings that same steadiness, clarity, and compassion to her therapeutic work at Shift Healing.
Today, we’re sitting down with her to introduce her to our community.
Q: Amanda, we’re so excited to have you here. What first drew you to social work and this field of healing?
Amanda: I’ve always been someone who listens deeply. Even as a teenager, I found myself sitting with friends or classmates during tough moments, wanting them to feel less alone. When I entered college, I studied psychology to understand people’s emotional worlds, but it was social work—its blend of compassion, advocacy, and connection—that made me feel at home.
I’m drawn to the spaces where people feel vulnerable, scared, or overwhelmed. Being able to walk beside someone and offer steadiness in those moments still feels like a privilege every day.
Q: What kinds of clients or concerns are you most passionate about working with?
Amanda: I’m especially drawn to people navigating:
cancer or chronic illness
caregiving
grief and loss
rare diseases
identity transitions
life changes that shake our sense of self
But I also love working with anyone who feels “stuck,” overwhelmed, or unsure of their next chapter. You don’t need to be in crisis to seek therapy—sometimes you just need someone to help you understand what’s unfolding inside you.
Q: What inspires you most about joining Shift Healing?
Amanda: The heart of this place. Shift Healing is grounded in authenticity, curiosity, and a commitment to true, soulful healing. It’s a community that believes in people’s inner capacity to grow—and that aligns perfectly with why I became a therapist in the first place.
I’m honored to join a team that values both clinical skill and the human spirit.
Please join us in warmly welcoming Amanda Fowler, MSW, LCSW, to the Shift Healing family.
Her compassion, depth, and experience make her an extraordinary presence—and we’re so grateful she’s here.
